Privacy Statement

At Foundation IT, your privacy is important to us and we are committed to ensuring your personal information is respected and protected by our company.

As such, we agree to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and the National Privacy Principles (NPP), which regulate and standardise the way organisations can collect and use personal information.

Collection of Information

Foundation IT collects different information, depending on the type of service for which you contract. This information is necessary for the identification and provision of services to the customer and management of the customer account. Information that may be collected includes:

Ø      You or your company’s name, address and contact details;

Ø      You or your company’s account name and account number held by financial institutions from which payments for services provided by Foundation IT are made and information obtained as a result of credit checks which you authorise us to carry out;

Ø      Records of assets that are owned by you;

Ø      Records of communications between you and Foundation IT relating to services;

Ø      Records of your usage of Computers, Telephones and the Internet;

Ø      Billing data;

Ø      Data backups (only if requested).

Use of Information

Foundation IT respects individual and corporate information and as such does not distribute any personal or corporate information to third parties without express consent.

Any information collected by Foundation IT is used for the purposes reasonably necessary for providing contracted services, including;

Ø      Provisioning or connecting your service;

Ø      Network routing;

Ø      Providing you with a customer service;

Ø      Credit checking;

Ø      Billing you for that service;

Ø      Investigating complaints in relation to your service;

Ø      Investigating and fixing faults in relation to your service;

Ø      Following up any payments that you may owe us.

One of the services that Foundation IT offers includes the backing up of your data, if so requested. Thus, it is possible that for the purposes of this service, a copy of your data may be held on our servers as a backup only. This information is not used in any way other than for data recovery if necessary.

Another service that is offered by Foundation IT includes the remote control capability of your computers. This service is also undertaken only with express permission both before and at the time of remote control. All information gained or used when in the process of remote controlling your computer, is kept company-in-confidence in so far as is permitted by law.

To fully manage your account and provide necessary services, Foundation IT may, at times, be required to provide information to third party contractors or service providers. Some circumstances where contractors may be used to assist in the delivery of services include the installation or servicing of equipment. We may only disclose information where you would reasonably expect us to do so or where the disclosure is necessary for an activity related to the provision of contracted services.

Access to Your Information

Foundation IT takes all reasonable steps to ensure that the information we have in relation to your personal or company details remain correct. However, should you wish to gain access or make changes to that information, you can contact us by mail at the address outlined below.


We take all reasonable steps to protect the security of the personal information that we hold. This includes appropriate measures to protect our servers, electronic materials and materials stored and generated in hard copy.

However, due to the insecure environment of the Internet, we cannot guarantee the security of all information. If you use the Internet to send us information, including your email address, it is sent at your own risk.
